Although summer is nearing an end, there is still time to immerse yourself in a book that captivates and enthralls — the kind of book that rivets your attention for stretches of 8-12 hours. I just found my end of summer reading: Janet Browne’s splendidly gripping two volume biography of Charles Darwin.
I started the first volume a few days ago and can’t put it down; I will be starting the second today. Staying awake until 2:00 am each night when your usual bedtime is 10 pm is a reliable indicator of literary brilliance. Kudos to author Janet Browne, who was rewarded for her prodigious and masterful efforts with an endowed teaching position at Harvard in the History of Science Department.
